Training for Employers

We support disabled people to become better employers by offering free training courses to Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget holders.

These courses are funded by Skills for Care.

Training for you

We work with highly experienced external providers who deliver the training on our behalf. When you book a course your details will be passed to the external providers who will only use them to contact you about the training course you have booked.

Introduction to being an Individual Employer - Good Boss Webinars:

Training for your Personal Assistants

If you hold a Personal Health Budget, it will include funding to train your PA(s) in relevant skills such as Moving and Positioning. This is usually done in your home and using your equipment so that your PA(s) can be confident in their work with you. To discuss your particular needs, please contact us.

If you hold a Direct Payment or fund your own care, your PA(s) can access free training through SILC.

However, if your PA(s) require training in your home, then please contact us to arrange this.

The following courses are run using Zoom and are led by a trainer. They are free of charge.

Please see  https://surreyilc.eventbrite.co.uk/ for full course details and to book any of our free courses (if you are booking on behalf of your PA then please sign up with their name and email address).

UPCOMING COURSES:

The previous training cycle ended in March 2024.

As soon as we receive confirmation of funding for new courses for 2024-2025 we will post the courses and dates.

I've felt well supported and it has made things more manageable.

Initially it looked daunting, but it was made very easy.

It has been refreshing to be treated as an actual person. I am very grateful for that.
