Carey Lawrence

I joined SILC as a Trustee in May 2020. I have had a varied career that I wanted to use to help others. I have a Cognitive Neuropsychology background, where I have spent time working in scientific consultancy using my knowledge to improve human performance. I went on to manage and deliver strategic opportunities and projects to enable sustainability and growth, whilst also delivering continuous improvement initiatives. I have done this whilst living with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Some of the impacts of CP are not obvious but still need to be managed. I am a great believer that everything is possible with the right mindset and support. I want to be able to use the benefit of my experience to help others living with disability to live well.

I currently work locally on a full-time basis, and spend most of my weekend entertaining my two very young children.
